PAL Kangaroo / TALOS
Barcelona's research biped line: TALOS (2017) and Kangaroo (2021), sold to labs on request.

PAL Robotics has built REEM (2012), REEM-C (2013), the full-size torque-controlled TALOS (2017) and the compact biped Kangaroo (2021). Kangaroo was put on sale in August 2024, with TU Wien receiving the first unit, and a Kangaroo PRO with two arms followed in 2025. They are research platforms sold on quote, which is why this entry sits in the archive-style group rather than the core.
Our verdict
Respected European legged-robot research hardware, still on sale to labs, but outside the scope of a report on working or purchasable-at-list-price humanoids.
