The R1 is Unitree's lowest-priced humanoid (about 123 cm, 25-29 kg), launched in July 2025 at CNY 39,999 / USD 5,900. The base version is not programmable; EDU versions add compute, SDK access and optional dexterous hands. Public evidence of customer deployments is absent; it is a developer, education and enthusiast product.
Our verdict
A real, purchasable and unusually cheap biped for developers and schools; there is no deployment evidence, and runtime is about one hour.
