The G1 is Unitree's compact humanoid (about 132 cm, 35 kg) unveiled in May 2024. It is sold through several German and US dealers, mostly to labs, universities and developers; the base version ships without SDK access, the EDU versions add programming interfaces and dexterous hands. Named deployments are few and small, notably a two-year pilot by JAL Ground Service at Tokyo Haneda. Security researchers documented serious vulnerabilities and telemetry to servers in China in 2025.
Our verdict
Buy it as a research and demonstration platform, not as a worker: the evidence for productive field use is a single airport trial still working on stability.

FCC (US): Unitree's board secretary said (investor briefing, reported 2026-08-10) that G1, H2 and R1 plus Go2, B2 and A2 received FCC authorizations before the rules took effect and can keep being sold in the US for now; new products developed after the cutoff may face restrictions or need conditional approval.
