Generative Bionics showed GENE.01 at AMD's CES 2026 keynote on 2026-01-06, a European humanoid with a full-body sensing skin. Its first named partner is shipbuilder Fincantieri, with a four-year programme (announced 2026-02-11) to develop a welding variant and begin on-site trials at the Sestri Ponente yard by end of 2026. Eni signed a memorandum of understanding on 2026-09-30; Eni is also an investor, not a customer. Specs and price have not been officially published.
Our verdict
A well-funded European newcomer with a real industrial partner and a defensible safety idea; still a development programme. Move to core if the Fincantieri trials start on schedule.
