Calvin-40 is a headless bipedal humanoid built by Wandercraft, an exoskeleton maker, with Renault as investor and first customer. At Renault's Douai plant it is in trial handling two tires at a time (about 30 kg). Renault's futuREady plan (2026-03-10) targets about ten robots by end of 2026 and 350 in French and Spanish plants by end of 2027; that is a target, not a contract for delivered units.
Our verdict
A credible, pragmatic design with a named customer-investor, but evidence is a trial at one plant; the 350-unit figure is Renault's plan.
